Very early start at 5am – efficient packing saw us on the road by 5.45am.
We reached wine in the wall stop before they opened so unfortunately no free wine – but we got the picture …

Need pic from Jules here
The road today was 22km – undulating climb up to Villamayor de Monjardin then descends to Los Arcos – see profiles below

Below is the route from the garmin watch

The scenery along route is really beautiful – it is counteracted by the discomforts associated with the sweat in the boots, body aches, and heavy haversack.

Today we were blessed with really nice cool weather due to a protective covering of cloud kept the sun at bay.

An entrancing sight en route was this farmer picking grapes and processing the leaves and vine branches on his own with a mesmerizing tractor – this pic does not capture the clever design …

Nor this … so many moving parts …

On the steep descent an unfortunate accident to one of our Camino family resulted in a very nasty graze

Once in Los Larcos after the madness of the process of clearing the day – washing body & clothes & eating and preparing for tomorrow we made it to the massive church – Iglesia de Santa María de ascensión

After a pizza in the plaza de Santiago we are now packing ready for lights out at 10pm and another early start tomorrow- mañana.
