Based on recommendations from Nico (Maintenance and front of house person at Roy’s camp) we decided to book a campsite at Riverdance Lodge on the Okavango river. What a beautiful campsite.
Riverdance 175 km after Rundu (about 25 km before Divundu on the left) at the Shadikongoro turn-off – it is well signposted
Luckily we followed Nico’s advice and phoned ahead – we got the last available campsite
Each campsite is “Exclusive” which means private – each had its own ablution block – shower, toilet, washing up sink and hot water powered by gas – Really great – no donkey to start fires in
campsites 1 & 4 can easily accommodate 2 vehicles
As per the featured image and the pics below – we took the opportunity to wash the very muddy crocheted back wheel cover to try restore some of its previous glory – although it had stretched somewhat and looked like a full nappy – this will be fixed sometime …in the background is Angola across the Okavongo River
The deck /restaurant in the centre of the premises accomodates sundowners, breakfast lunch & dinners – a really nice set up
The Riverdance Lodge was started in 2011 and was taken over by a swiss family in 2015 – see more at https://www.riverdance.com.na/
From here we moved to Katima Mulilo and on to Zambia
