On 30 August we were heading slowly south and were camping in Zambia at the Kapishya hot springs (which are delightful) when a call came though from Barry’s sister, Ann, in Cape Town with the devastating news that our eldest Son, Lee had passed away from a heart attack. (The cause was a result of long covid complications and heart failure).
It was a horrfying shock – we packed up and started heading down to Lusaka where we left our vehicle with friends (Richard & Nancy) and flew to Cape Town for the memorial service and to be with the family.
Below is me with my son Lee taken in Bostwana – where we celebrated my 60th year and Lee’s 40th – Lee died at age 47
The following poem by Stanley Arumagam expresses how I feel about the process of trying to wind up Lee’s estate.
