SAHAGUN to EL BURGO RANERO – 22 Sept 2022

  • Barry

Today was a day when everything came together well – the start of the day at 5.30 was efficient and easy. Breakfast was good then out into the chilly crisp air. We waited for a while at the grand old gates for Bob a Pete then decided to move on slowly

It was a lovely days walk along chestnut tree lined path that went by very quickly.

Chestnut tree lined way

We sharing favorite poems, books with Peter, Bob & Jules.

Peter really likes the poem “Stop all the Clocks” from 4 weddings & a funeral – we read it while walking..

Such a good poem for the expression of the feeling of a loss of a loved one. RIP Lee.

Below is a headstone commemorating the transition of a pilgrim from this life into the next that we passed along the way today.

We arrived at the Municipal Alberque before the opening time of 1pm and waited to get in.

After securing a bed next priority was food and look at the village
