We arrived safely at Spitzkoppe and set up camp and were settling in to either a walk, a climb or a run. In fact the runners had already set out on their run when we were surprised by the most unexpected rain downpour – we were pretty soaked and even streams were witnessed pouting down the granite rocks of spitzkoppe.
After the rain – the walk was fresh and of course … a rainbow
The next morning we took the opportunity to climb the saddle (in the pic with Jules above -to the right) -a steep climb in parts but worth the effort.
From Spitzkoppe we headed down toward the coast stopping at the entrance to the Dorob nature area for a body stretch
then refuel of vehicles and bodies at Henties Bay
Henties was a quick stop the we headed north up the Skeleton coast on the “salt road” past the Cape Cross seal colony and headed inland to the solitude of Messum crater in desert surroundings
great pics that tell the story beautifully.
it is so good of you both to keep me in the loop.
safe travels and happy memory making.
thanks also for the WhatsApp pics Jules.
Hi Peter
Yes thanks for keeping in touch – it is also nice that you travelled these roads not so long ago – we really enjoyed Onguma Lodge swimming pool- best wishes – Barry & Jules
