The day started with the sound of rain and out of the window was mist. The sweetness of last nights sharing still being felt. At the end of the meal we shared our names, country and reason for Camino in our home language. Very touching … even had a South Korean singing a local song.
Breakfast was lightly toasted rolls and jam with coffee or tea in very large mugs (like soup bowls)

We encountered cows pigs sheep & cars along the way up

We caught up to Bob & Pete from Sydney Australia and walked the rest of the way for the day with them up to Roncesvalles (their stop)
A lot of the route up was on a narrow tar road

After a grateful stop at a Food Truck ( We had hot chocolate & boiled eggs) we moved off the road onto mountain pathways- very beautiful

There are many plaques and tributes along the route

The route also had great signage

Some magnificent forests

We made through some steeps slopes saw some beautiful flowers

Also some big slugs

We decided to move in to Burguette- 3km down towards SDC (Santiago de Compostela) and passed the much photographed 790km sign to SDC – it took us over 25km to walk to this sign

We found a delightful place to sleep after being turned away from 3 full places – casa Rural Bagara and after the ritual of shower, wash & hang clothes, we rested a bit inverted legs to reverse blood flow and went for the “Peregrino menu del dia” – pilgrim menu of the day at as small local hotel where luckily our hostess had advised us to book

Great pics and commentary!
25 down and 790 to go – WOW! ???
Thanks for the support Dave & Sands
I’d love to do this …. one day… sigh ?
